Lace Cookies

I saw a recipe similar to this a few years ago while I was writing my Christmas cookie list. I thought there is no way that is correct…only 2 Tablespoons of flour? Doesn’t sound right! Then just as I was preparing for my cookie list for 2012, this recipe popped up again. But this time the ingredients seemed about right. I thought I was interested then and I’m interested now. Lets make them.

Ingredients

1/2 Cup Sifted Flour
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
1/2 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
1/3 Cup Unsalted Butter (Melted)
2 Tablespoons Heavy Cream
2 Tablespoons Light Corn Syrup
1 Teaspoon Vanilla (Oops It)
2 Oz. Dark Chocolate Melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and oats in a medium bowl.

Mix butter, heavy cream, corn syrup, and vanilla in separate medium bowl.

Add the dry ingredients.

Drop 3/4 teaspoon onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Yes I did say 3/4 TEASPOON. I know it doesn’t sound right. But the batter will thin out and spread.

Bake 8-10 mins.

That’s it. It’s so easy, you will think you’re doing it wrong.

When finished, melt the 2 oz of chocolate in sauce pan. ( Or microwave if you prefer) Place the chocolate into a pastry bag. (or a ziplock) and just drizzle across the cookie to give it some decoration. You could also just dip a spoon into the chocolate and quickly flick you wrist back and forth to create a drizzle.

Retail Happiness

I just had to share my high for the day! While shopping with my sister and daughter today, we stopped at Micheal’s. A local craft store. A favorite of mine. In the very back corner of the store was the clearance isle! So I stocked up. Christmas stuff for 90% off!!! Love it. This is what I got. For all this…Orginal retail costs$73.86 BUT…I paid only $6.87. I was in Heaven and prepared for next year!

Amazon’s “Pin It” Button

I have been telling my mom for many months now that I have been saving photos on my PC of things that I want for Christmas. And I have. But today I went onto Amazon.com and decided to create a wish list. My family uses Amazon.com to order most of the things they want or need. We live pretty far from civilization! Using the internet is so much more convenient. They are such frequent shoppers that it is beneficial for them to pay to have free shipping!

I don’t know if any of you are familiar with Pinterest. I’m sure you all are. Well Pinterest has a Pin It button. And now Amazon does too. (kind of) I am so in love with it. I took all those pictures I have saved up and found them and pinned them to my wish list.

Heres how it works. Log into your account on Amazon.com. (Or create an account) On your header find “wish list” and drop down to find “create wish list”.

On the left hand side under “wish list tips” you’ll see “wish from any website”…”add items to your list from any site”

~CLICK~

~INSTALL~

Follow the visual instructions…and vuala! You have created a magic button that organizes what you want with one click.

The best part…those of you who are fans of Amazon…The button allows you to compare prices to Amazons if the item you are tagging is sold by Amazon also.

Don’t forget to tell your friends and family about your list so they may find it easier to shop this year. Happy clicking.
